Raw video
stays local.

Privacy-first edge AI for existing cameras.

HYBT PrivacyNode connects to your existing IP cameras, runs AI presence detection on-device, and outputs structured events and metadata-only alerts. Raw video is designed to stay local by default — not on a cloud server.

$25 refundable launch reservation. Not a final hardware purchase.
Final Kickstarter pricing, taxes, shipping regions, delivery terms,
and production timeline will be confirmed before launch.

Cloud cameras are useful.
They come with trade-offs.

Most smart camera systems upload your video to a server you don't own. That's where alerts are processed, clips are stored, and your footage lives — on someone else's infrastructure.

🔒

Privacy exposure

Video is sent to third-party servers. You cannot fully control who sees it, where it is stored, or when it is deleted. For schools, clinics, and offices this creates legal and compliance risk.

💸

Compounding subscription costs

Most capable systems require a monthly fee per camera. Add cameras, add cost. Over three years, subscription fees can match or exceed the original hardware cost.

📡

Network dependency

Continuous video upload uses bandwidth and depends on reliable connectivity. When the connection drops, many systems stop working entirely.

Smart at the edge,
simple to understand.

PrivacyNode processes camera feeds on-device. Raw video is designed to stay local by default. What you receive is structured events — locally stored, exportable on your terms.

01
Connect
Plug into your existing RTSP or USB camera. No replacements needed in most cases.
02
Define zones
Draw zone polygons on your camera view. Set rules: staffing thresholds, dwell time, restricted access.
03
Get events
When a rule triggers, you receive a structured event — a Telegram message, a log entry. Not a video clip.
04
Review locally
Local web dashboard on your LAN. Event timeline. Zone stats. System health. No internet required for core function.

Privacy is not a setting.
It's how the device is designed.

The architecture is designed for local processing and metadata-only export when enabled. No raw video cloud upload by default. This is a design constraint, not a policy toggle.

🔒

Stays on device — by design

Raw video — not transmitted, not stored remotely by default

Camera feed — processed on-device; inference frames discarded after use

Inference frames — used for detection only, not retained

Face data — none collected; person-class presence detection only

Biometric identification — not performed; no identity matching

Event logs — local NVMe only; export is user-initiated

☁️

Can leave — opt-in only

Telegram alerts — text only; no images; requires your own bot token

Event metadata — timestamps, zone IDs, event types, person counts

Aggregate reports — CSV export initiated by you

MQTT events — to your own local or remote broker

No telemetry from HYBT. We have no access to your device or camera feeds.

Built for real spaces.

PrivacyNode is designed around practical, everyday environments — not theoretical edge cases.

Risks & limitations.
Stated plainly.

Hardware projects carry real risk. Here is our honest account.

Camera compatibility

PrivacyNode is designed for standard RTSP cameras. Some older or budget cameras use non-standard stream implementations. A tested-compatible list will be published before shipping.

Lighting conditions

Person detection degrades in poor lighting, heavy backlighting, or significant occlusion. Accuracy figures will be measured in defined, documented conditions — not best-case scenarios.

False positives & missed events

No edge-speed person detector is fully accurate. Some false alerts and some missed events should be expected in challenging conditions. Confidence thresholds will be configurable.

Component availability

Electronics supply chains are variable. We have supplier relationships but cannot guarantee component timing will not affect delivery. Backers will be notified if our estimate shifts more than 60 days.

Software maturity

First-run hardware ships with a functional but early-stage software stack. Some planned features are post-launch. Backers are supporting a product in its early commercial stage — not a finished product.

Regulatory differences

Data protection law varies by jurisdiction. The PrivacyNode architecture aligns with data minimisation principles but deployment compliance is the operator's responsibility. Consult a professional for workplace use.

What this product is not: Not a theft detection guarantee. Not a system that performs facial recognition or biometric identification. Not a substitute for physical security measures. Not a military or law enforcement product.

It secures your place on the early access list. You receive all campaign updates, early backer pricing notifications, and priority access when the Kickstarter launches. It does not constitute a purchase of hardware and does not guarantee a specific price or delivery date. It is fully refundable on request.
Email dev@hybt.ai with the subject "Reservation refund request" and the email address used at checkout. We process refunds back to the original payment method. See our Refund Policy for full details.
Raw video is not stored by default. The device processes frames in real time to generate event metadata and then discards the frames. Events — timestamps, zone IDs, event types, person counts — are stored locally on NVMe. Local video clip capture can optionally be enabled and is stored on the device only.
No. The device is designed to operate on your local network. HYBT Technologies has no remote access channel, no telemetry feed to your cameras, and no mechanism to view your footage.
No. PrivacyNode uses person-class presence detection — it identifies that a human-shaped object is in a defined zone. It does not identify who that person is, does not perform biometric identification, does not compare faces against any database, and does not store biometric data.
Not necessarily. PrivacyNode is designed for cameras providing a standard RTSP H.264 or H.265 stream — which covers most IP cameras sold in the last decade. USB cameras are also supported. A tested-compatible list will be published before shipping.
No. Core detection and event logging is designed to operate offline. An internet connection is needed only for optional features: Telegram alerts, OTA software updates, and optional aggregate metadata export.
We are currently in the campaign preparation phase. All reservation holders will receive launch notification by email before the campaign goes public.
Target initial shipping regions include the United Kingdom, European Union, UAE, and USA. Final shipping regions will be confirmed before the campaign launches. See our Shipping Policy for the latest information.
The PrivacyNode architecture is designed to align with data minimisation principles — no retained raw video, no biometric data, local processing by default. Compliance for a specific deployment depends on your jurisdiction, use case, and operational notices. HYBT does not provide legal advice. Consult a data protection professional for workplace deployments.
