HYBT PrivacyNode connects to your existing IP cameras, runs AI presence detection on-device, and outputs structured events and metadata-only alerts. Raw video is designed to stay local by default — not on a cloud server.
$25 refundable launch reservation. Not a final hardware purchase.
Final Kickstarter pricing, taxes, shipping regions, delivery terms,
and production timeline will be confirmed before launch.
the problem
Most smart camera systems upload your video to a server you don't own. That's where alerts are processed, clips are stored, and your footage lives — on someone else's infrastructure.
Video is sent to third-party servers. You cannot fully control who sees it, where it is stored, or when it is deleted. For schools, clinics, and offices this creates legal and compliance risk.
Most capable systems require a monthly fee per camera. Add cameras, add cost. Over three years, subscription fees can match or exceed the original hardware cost.
Continuous video upload uses bandwidth and depends on reliable connectivity. When the connection drops, many systems stop working entirely.
how it works
PrivacyNode processes camera feeds on-device. Raw video is designed to stay local by default. What you receive is structured events — locally stored, exportable on your terms.
privacy architecture
The architecture is designed for local processing and metadata-only export when enabled. No raw video cloud upload by default. This is a design constraint, not a policy toggle.
Raw video — not transmitted, not stored remotely by default
Camera feed — processed on-device; inference frames discarded after use
Inference frames — used for detection only, not retained
Face data — none collected; person-class presence detection only
Biometric identification — not performed; no identity matching
Event logs — local NVMe only; export is user-initiated
Telegram alerts — text only; no images; requires your own bot token
Event metadata — timestamps, zone IDs, event types, person counts
Aggregate reports — CSV export initiated by you
MQTT events — to your own local or remote broker
No telemetry from HYBT. We have no access to your device or camera feeds.
use cases
PrivacyNode is designed around practical, everyday environments — not theoretical edge cases.
Know when a sales counter is unstaffed. Measure dwell time by zone. Get an alert when foot traffic exceeds a defined threshold. No video subscription, no cloud storage bill.
Track occupancy by area without recording personal data. Alert when a restricted room is accessed outside permitted hours. An architecture a data protection officer can review and approve.
Confirm safety zone status before operations begin. Log entries into restricted storage areas with timestamps. Operational audit trail — no cloud dependency during network outages.

transparency
Hardware projects carry real risk. Here is our honest account.
PrivacyNode is designed for standard RTSP cameras. Some older or budget cameras use non-standard stream implementations. A tested-compatible list will be published before shipping.
Person detection degrades in poor lighting, heavy backlighting, or significant occlusion. Accuracy figures will be measured in defined, documented conditions — not best-case scenarios.
No edge-speed person detector is fully accurate. Some false alerts and some missed events should be expected in challenging conditions. Confidence thresholds will be configurable.
Electronics supply chains are variable. We have supplier relationships but cannot guarantee component timing will not affect delivery. Backers will be notified if our estimate shifts more than 60 days.
First-run hardware ships with a functional but early-stage software stack. Some planned features are post-launch. Backers are supporting a product in its early commercial stage — not a finished product.
Data protection law varies by jurisdiction. The PrivacyNode architecture aligns with data minimisation principles but deployment compliance is the operator's responsibility. Consult a professional for workplace use.
